SHS Biology Students Apply Genetics to Trace Rabbit Fur Color for 3 Generations

Biology students in Mrs. Watson's and Mrs. Brown's classes were able to apply what they've learned in their genetics unit to a real-life scenario using pedigrees .  They were able to trace the origin of the fur color of four Polish rabbits back through three generations, and then use the pedigree of each rabbit to determine which colors were dominant or recessive.  For many of the students, being able to hold and pet the rabbits was an added, "therapeutic" bonus.
